Spring/Summer 2013 Shoe Trends

Spring and Summer 2013 season shoe trends are all about metallic finish, pointed toes, transparent details, and architectural shapes. An ankle strap is also the main trend in footwear for Spring and Summer 2013.

Metallic shoes is one of the most important trends for Spring and Summer 2013. Silver foil shoes and sandals were all over the runway during Fashion Week spotted at Emporio Armani, Nicole Miller, Giambattista Valli’s fashion shows. At Moschino sandals with high heels were decorated with crushed crystals and metallic leaf plates while at Viktor & Rolf metallic pumps were made of textured material.

Trend of the day. Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012. Catwalk Shoes.

The shoes at Jean Paul Gaultier this weekend were very extraordinary.
They're also heel-less, which means we need to start getting used to wearing shoes without heels and it doesn't seem easy.
As for the clothes, critics are describing it as classic Gaultier: trenches, pinstripes and exquisite tailoring.

There was also a strong tattoo theme, but not in an Ed Hardy tacky kind of way. The tattoos were subtly printed on jackets, bags, tops and shoes.

INVISIBLE NAKED SHOE. ANDREIA CHAVES.

Andreia Chaves, the Brazilian designer is the brains behind the recently released “Invisible Shoe.” This platform prodigy has now launched a new version of the Invisible Shoe called “Naked.” The shell of Naked is a 3D printed nylon with an interior leather pump hand made in Italy. Andreia Chaves is a recent grad student but has already become a favorite in the fashion world. Her conceptual take on the integration of art and footwear has given the young designer the ability to stand out of the crowd in a very saturated market. The Naked Shoe is more of an object than a functional piece of footwear, but don’t let the obscure geometry of the design dissuade you from sporting these puppies at your next soiree in the city. Like we previously stated, there are some cushy hand made pumps inside to hug your little tootsies. Just try to keep in mind that the shoes, and not you, should remain ‘naked.’

Fashionable Trend in Detail: Fur Shoes, Fur Boots and Booties

Fur adorning boots, booties and shoes are really trendy this winter 2011 and they keep your feet warm too! Let's take a look at what is fashionable today and how to wear fur shoes.

Dolce & Gabbana fur boots. You can wear these Eskimo shoes with leather, wool and chequered tweed.

Thakoon. There are a couple of things better than a good, sturdy boot - and this wedge version, by Thakoon, is a standout. In deep gray suede, it’s a neutral - so you can wear it with most anything in your wardrobe. Rugged enough to complement a more masculine look, the added fur balances out the hardcore edge - and makes the shoe a perfect accessory for a dressy look, as well.

Anna Sui and Ralph Lauren. Weat fur ankle boots with variegated panty hose or with leggings.

TRIBUTE SHOE TO ALEXANDER MC QUEEN

From music performances to movie remakes and now shoes, do tributes ever do the originator any justice? Feast your eyes on the TRIBUTE by Jeffrey Campbell paying homage to Alexander McQueen's lobster claw shoe. The shoe is available at LF Stores with all proceeds going to charity in his honor.

Alexander Mcqueen made a decision to take his life. We all say thank you for the wonderful fashion he has brought us.

The heel, the shape, the pattern. There will not be another artist that will be able to replace this shoe.

We will ever forget his 10 inch heels. They are shoes any women would be lucky to have.

Shoe Of The Year - YVES SAINT LAURENT Trib Two Platform Heels

You could not swing a Fendi handbag on the red carpet without knock up against a celebrity wearing YVES SAINT LAURENT Trib Two Platform Pumps.

Coco Rocha was the first who was seen wearing these luxurious platform heels back in July, and they soon became the red carpet must-have. Although these shoes are very high at 5,5 they are surprisingly very comfortable to wear in comparison to Louboutin's ones.
The heels came in black leather and black patent leather, and the soles varied from blue, black and yellow.

Victoria Beckham was surprisingly one of the last to hop onto this trend.

Many people have expressed negative opinions of the shoe of late designer YSL, but other people adore them! They are so chic and the platform ads a little spice to a rather basic black pump.
